Search Engines
Search engines are beneficial tools for student and teacher learning. Students can more effectively find credible information on an array of topics that are useful for project, papers, and beyond. When we know what websites and resources have credible information, and where we can find these websites, we can find credible information on the topic we are learning. Along with being able to find credible information, students and teachers can also have a more precise search by using keywords or advanced searches. (Byrne, 2012, p.183)
Website Evaluation Video

This video highlights 5 key concepts to focus on when determining if a website is credible. I loved how this video was animated well keep the viewer engaged. I would use this in my classroom to not only focus on website credibility, but professionalism and how that can be portrayed online.
Favorite Professional Websites
http://www.scholastic.com/home/ is a wonderful resource for teachers. It offers videos, ebooks, and even printables that teachers can use. The website has an abundance of resources that any teacher can use. I also really enjoy https://www.flocabulary.com. This website offers media as well accessible content. The creators and all the information about the website can be found by clicking the tabs at the top of the page, without having to search the whole website to find them. (Roblyer, 2016, p.198)
Online Safety and Security
Two topics that really stand out to me from the textbook, Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, are cyberbullying and sales pitches aimed at children. At such a young age, children do not understand the dangers of the internet and can be persuaded into anything online. As teachers, it is our responsibility to ensure that students understand these dangers and keep our students away from them. Cyberbullying has become a hot topic online because it is happening all over. We must make sure our students know that this type of behavior is unacceptable and the steps they should take if it is happening to them. (Roblyer, 2016, p.174)
